Regent Christmas Party Take Out at Pik's

26 December 2012

For this year's Christmas, Pik Ling, Mako, Louise, Karen, Adeline and me
decided to order take-out and eat in comfort at home. I chose Regent’s take-out because of the free delivery they provide for orders of $300 and above. But never did I expect Regent to be so professional! They called me in the morning to ask the specific time that I want the food to be delivered, and they actually arrived at the exact time! When the receptionist called me, I was shocked at the sight of 3 huge boxes and 1 big bag of food that were accompanied by 2 Regent staff.

Anyway to cut the story short, we immediately went back to Pik Ling’s house and laid all the food out while waiting impatiently for the rest to arrive.

The huge boxes

Look at how beautiful the food was. Grilled asparagus, tomato with cheese, roasted turkey with nuts and fruits, ham (also accompanied with nuts and fruits) and grilled potatoes.

While waiting for everyone to settle in, Pik Ling's mending corner starts work. PL is mending karen's top.

At the rate we drinks, we needed some cheap booze $14.90 each

We are a good working team. PL & i carry the food back home and lay them out. Maggie & Adeline help to un-wrapped the food, Louise cuts them up. Karen sponsers dipping sauce!

All made even better with the various dips that Karen bought. The dips were so fabulously yummy! Black olives, green olives, mushroom truffle. We ate as much as we could together with 8 bottles of wine.  Even though it was dinner at home, it sure was an excellent one! No dinner reservation, no closing time, no crowds. Just the 6 of us in the atmosphere of scented candle and food and wine and laughter and fun.

Then the best part arrived!! Christmas exchange time! To me gift buying is an art. Although it is the thought that counts, but sometimes it is not. Gifts have to be useful to the recipient. If they will use it, will they like it? Here are some gift exchange photos. I hope everyone loves my gift!

A tea set from Royal Albert.
Royal Albert has been dedicated to English grace, elegance, and romance since Victorian times. The story of Royal Albert stretches back over one hundred years to a small pottery business established by Thomas Wild, in Longton - one of the six towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent, "The Potteries".
Established in 1896, Royal Albert is inspired by everything English- the country garden and England's national flower, the rose. Quintessentially English, Royal Albert Gifts, Fine China & Tableware are both traditional and avant-garde.
One of the most famous Royal Albert patterns is Old Country Roses. Launched in 1962, Old Country Roses was based on an older Royal Albert Pattern called Kings Ransom and continues to be one of the best selling fine bone china patterns in the world - selling more than 150 million pieces since its introduction.
