Happy Wedding Anniversary - Raffles Hotel

4 years ago,we held our wedding at Raffles Hotel.  4 years later I decided to return to this hotel for a staycation to celebrate our 4th year anniversary.

There were definitely some regrets to the wedding and I am sure this happens to all the brides out there. We would always tell ourself if we could do it again, we would do this way and not that way, or we would have chosen this and not that. But sadly we can't turn back time. So I decided to make use of this opportunity to make right somethings which I felt could have been done differently. I had always wanted to take more photos in Raffles Hotel which I was unable to do so 4 years ago. So the purpose of this staycation was to leave footprints in every corner of Raffles Hotel. And of course I had a theme.  Since I could not put on the same wedding gown, I chose something white but much shorter so that our pictures would still sort of look like wedding shots but yet not so. Before I present the pictures I would like to say a special THANK YOU to the Hub who is always so sporting.  He's always agreeing to what I want to do and going the flow. Likewise for this time.  And I loved the surpise flowers in the room. I really appreciate all your effort.

The Ballroom on 25.12.2010

I remember 4 years ago, the ballroom was really busy, there was a wedding lunch followed by our wedding dinner.  But this morning it was really quiet. Well maybe they knew that we were coming back to take some photos today =)

4 years ago from Sophia Peh's mobile phone.

4 years later.

After reminiscing, let me showcase the series of photos I took this morning with the help of the tripod stand. I purposely made Mr Guan wake up at 7am and we started taking pictures at 8am. This was to avoid unnecessary photobombers and have eyes staring at us like as if we were mad people.

First let's get started with the outdoor shots.

Not the same Christmas tree 4 years ago but this real tree smells so good.

The same staircase we took to the wedding ballroom 4 years ago.

Looking even better than 4 years ago. And who says we can't age gracefully?

Along the beautiful courtyard rooms.

The Lawn - so romantic to have an ROM party here.

Then Indoors

Our room for the night - room 350

Lastly, Merry Christmas!!

Pre Wedding Photo Shoot and Bridesmaids Dress

Pre -Wedding Photo Shoot and Bridesmaids Dress

Doing the backlog on my wedding post, hopefully it will provide some tips on your own wedding preparation. My wedding was held on September this year. I would like to announce officially, there is no more MS on this blog  :p

Props for wedding shoot...I'm sure all couples would love to have their own set of lovely photos for the rest of our lovely marriage and so... after surfing pinterest for many hours...getting many inspirations...I decided to have some interesting props for my pre-wedding shoot!!!

Looking for props was definitely not easy! Nothing on Ebay & Local props rental company seems to fit my budget and therefore, I turned to Taobao for my props. Taobao had become my best friend during the wedding preparation! Awesome "one-stop-site"!

The shoes and the props for the pre-wedding photos shoot. I am selling the "Big Bling Gorgeous Heels" and the props! Click---------> pre-loved

Instead of visiting a manicurist....to save some bucks, I got these fake nails from Taobao for the photo shoot...

Paper-Windmills that I made for the shoot..

Instead of using a VW Kombi (Which is cute), We HAVE to use A Muscular, Handsome, Well-Groomed, Rare & Cool Land Rover DEFENDER of my Hubby for this photo-shoot of a lifetime!!!!!!

Wanna have one for yours too? Feel Free to email me at msandmrslove2travel@gmail.com for more details!!!! ( It will bring soooo much fun and effects for your shoot!)

Erm, the horse will have to be rented elsewhere yea?

Our photographer Henry and our dear friend, Angie and WT who helped us...

Items I would suggest you to bring for the wedding shoot:

1) Friends who don't mind the heat and trouble!
2) Mini Fan
3) Cold drinks and booze!!!.....having beer and friends on the set make the shooting process very fun...

Next... Bridesmaid dresses.

This is a big headache as I have 9 bridesmaids..... which means 9 bridesmaid dress!! Getting from local shop is going to cost me about $80 per dress... multiply and $720 would be a sum spent for my girls to the dresses once in their lives??!?!?!....not worth it!! So.. I turned to Taobao again! It only cost me around $20 incl of shipment. With all the wrong sizes and re-ordering, the prices I've paid is still pretty reasonable.

Oh well, I could only say that the quality of the dresses definitely fit the money spent(cheap!)...and furthermore, We couldn't ask more for a dress we would only fit once!

Here is some of the bridesmaid dresses that I shortlisted from Taobao....

My beautiful bridesmaid...(loveliest bunch of crazy Girls!!!)

Thanks for reading this wonderful posts....

Gown Choosing at Rico a Mona Bridal Boutique

Gown Choosing at Rico a Mona

Looking back at the previous post on  Perfect White Dress where Ashley and Anning went bridal hunting with me, I realized that it was almost a year ago. Times really flies, now I am only less than 3 months away from my wedding date.

During our hunt for the Perfect White Dress , I had decided that I wanted to sign up with Rico A Mona because I liked one of their gown.

The gown testing was done Feb this year. Dated posting again haha. I am entitled to choose 4 gowns for the photo-shoot. One for indoor and three for outdoor. The gown testing supposed to take only one day but i took two days to complete. The first day I only chosen 3 out of 4 gown as I could not find a color gown that I really liked. (Tips: Better to arrange your gown testing on Wednesday as most of the gown would be returned by then. The first time I went is Monday, many of the gowns were not back from the weekend wedding.)

Sharlia was there with me for the gown choosing and she was my partner in crime, the photos was taken by her. Some of the photo that I had it mosaic was simply because I looked ugly haha....forgive me...as we were not supposed to take photos during the gown trial so we had to take photo secretly before Milly caught us and remind us not to take photos thus I got no time to pose.

Appointment at 6 we tested till 9.30 only chosen 3 gowns.

My coordinator name is Milly. She is a very petite gal and all these gown is taller then her, the gown is very heavy as well. She is very patient ,she keep bringing me different types of gowns to let me try on so that I can see which type of gown suits me. But end of the first day trial, I still did not find any color gown I liked, so I went back another day. The second time was a breeze within 30 mins I found a pink gown that I liked.

Trying out different style here...Lacey
