Gown Choosing at Rico a Mona Bridal Boutique

Gown Choosing at Rico a Mona

Looking back at the previous post on  Perfect White Dress where Ashley and Anning went bridal hunting with me, I realized that it was almost a year ago. Times really flies, now I am only less than 3 months away from my wedding date.

During our hunt for the Perfect White Dress , I had decided that I wanted to sign up with Rico A Mona because I liked one of their gown.

The gown testing was done Feb this year. Dated posting again haha. I am entitled to choose 4 gowns for the photo-shoot. One for indoor and three for outdoor. The gown testing supposed to take only one day but i took two days to complete. The first day I only chosen 3 out of 4 gown as I could not find a color gown that I really liked. (Tips: Better to arrange your gown testing on Wednesday as most of the gown would be returned by then. The first time I went is Monday, many of the gowns were not back from the weekend wedding.)

Sharlia was there with me for the gown choosing and she was my partner in crime, the photos was taken by her. Some of the photo that I had it mosaic was simply because I looked ugly haha....forgive me...as we were not supposed to take photos during the gown trial so we had to take photo secretly before Milly caught us and remind us not to take photos thus I got no time to pose.

Appointment at 6 we tested till 9.30 only chosen 3 gowns.

My coordinator name is Milly. She is a very petite gal and all these gown is taller then her, the gown is very heavy as well. She is very patient ,she keep bringing me different types of gowns to let me try on so that I can see which type of gown suits me. But end of the first day trial, I still did not find any color gown I liked, so I went back another day. The second time was a breeze within 30 mins I found a pink gown that I liked.

Laksa King Steamboat

Laksa King Steamboat

It is another night that we had craving for steamboat again so we decided to try out Laksa King Steamboat which is at Teck Chye Terrace. Note: parking there is a headache, you can either pass it to the valet or park at Serangoon Stadium and walk over.

The soup choice, this is the first time we had Laksa and Mala soup base together....both spicy soup lolz.

The food choice...this is buffet style steamboat.

Sauce is free

Cook Food from the menu...

Here comes the soup....look at the RED....

This is my favorite..handmade noodles. Soak this in Mala soup...Sedap!!

Potato Noodle is also another must have if you eat Mala steamboat !! They goes together really well.

Total cost: About $27 per person, the buffet does not include drinks.

Overall: The Laksa and Mala soup are quite average, I had tasted better Laksa Soup and better Mala Soup before in other places. But if you want to have both soup together, I think Laksa Steamboat is the only one that offer this option . The price is friendly given the variety of food they offered.

Note: Thou the place state they operate till 11pm, the staff will start cleaning and packing the place early if there are not many customer left....pressuring you to eat fast and leave fast.

Rating: 3.5/5

Stay-cation at Oasia Hotel

Stay-cation at Oasia Hotel

It's another super dated posting by us. Recently, we had been neglecting our blog as we are really busy lolz...I had many photos on my iPad waiting to be blog...but sorting the photos really takes up lots of time...so be patient....good things need to be wait haha

Anyway, this is my post on my stay-cation at Oasia Hotel last year Christmas Eve...so you will see some Christmas decoration on the photos....

We were staying at the club level since the club rooms and normal rooms price differential is insignificant.
The welcome drinks at the club lobby.

The club lobby where you can have free drinks and snacks all day long....there is indoor and outdoor seat but there is no view for this hotel. At the back of the hotel is a condo, you can look into people house and see what they are doing. The front view is hospital view and a church which was great because the time of our stay was Christmas Eve.We can see people celebrating at the church and singing Christmas Carol which adds on to the Christmas Ambiance

My Mocha

The outdoor Swimming and Jacuzzi pool which are kind of small.

The room....the corridor to the room and the room is scented with wood smell which is quite interesting because the room is decorated with wood.

They are generous with the drinks....all drinks in the minibar are free

The Gym...

I find this digital  weight lifting machine interesting and it looks super high tech..

Overall: I felt this hotel is average, we had our breakfast at the club lobby but during breakfast time it was rather chaotic. Food was not top up promptly and drink was not served promptly. The staff forgotten our order a coupe of times. Breakfast choice was very limited. Staff was not trained well. The hotel location is good if you have medical appointments at the clinic or hospital. Otherwise, the place is quite dead at night.

Ashley's Travelogue 2014 - Japan

My super late post after 6 months....

Tokyo + Niseko 2014 My first trip in 2014 was a visit a country which I never thought of going before. As a Korean wannabe, going Japan was not top on my mind. But what changed my mind was a beautiful advertisement on Suiboku that I had come across in a magazine one day. I must say that the photographer who shot for the ad did a brilliant job. I told my friends that I would only join them for their Japan vacation if they agreed to stay in Suiboku in Niseko. Surprisingly Maggie, Adeline and Louise said Yes. And so we embarked on a 9 day Tokyo + Niseko trip. Accommodation in Tokyo: Dai Ichi – Tokyo Dates in Tokyo: 01.02.2014 – 04.02.2014 Currency: 1 SGD approximately 80 Yen (In Jan 2014) I am going to load you with mega tons of photos with no caption as I have forgotten what did we excatly did.
