The Most Beautiful Place on Earth - Banff ....Day 1 & Day 2

Flying in from Vancouver to Calgary was SPACTACULAR!!!!!!!!!! The views from the plane before we land was simply breathtaking and I knew this trip was gonna be awesome!

Driving from Calgary to Banff took us 3 hours. Alternatively. if you have the luxury of time, you can drive from Vancouver to Banff which is about 8 to 10 hours.

Starting off from Calgary to Banff National Park....

My hubby told me Banff is one of the most beautiful places on earth.....how true....
The highway to Banff
The Rockies looking bigger and majestic as we approach Banff National Park.

To enter into the national park there are some charges based on how many days you intend to stay inside. I wonder how much I need to pay if I plan to stay there forever haha. The entrance fee you pay goes to conserving the beautiful park. It is so well maintained despite the huge numbers of tourist visiting everyday. I am really impressed in the great work done by the Canadians to protect the park.
Approaching Banff Town where majority of the hotels and restaurants are...definitely a small cozy town.
The hotel that we stayed for the first night...Aspen Lodge.

The room...note there is no air con in this hotel. In fact, Many of the hotels in Banff do not have Air Conditioner since it is cool all the time and it snows too! However, your room could get stuffy sometimes.

We would rather have AC in our room...at least there is an option right? Other than Nick complaining about the passing train at times in the night, this is a great budget hotel for all!
We refused to rest. Out exploring the town and getting packages to visit the entire park was our top priority. Travellers should get the package for visiting the Glacier and Skywalk for a real visit! We bought our package from Brewster.

A good walk around town and you will realise that the town is filled with souvenir shops and restaurants.
Posing with Grizzly Bear....yeah a fake one :p
We walked by this shop and can't help noticing the cheese fondues that people are enjoying....looks so delicious that we have to try it out!!!. No regrets...it is shiok to eat hot cheese fondue in this cooling weather. It would be even greater if there is Ma La Steamboat here haha....Wa! great business opportunity, what do you think? haha
The "jing hua" of the cheese fondue "Guo Ba" !!
This...is...passion to serve!
After our late lunch...we continue to explore the little town. We fell in love with this place!
A Brussels sprouts stick....I did not know that Brussels sprouts grow in a branch until I saw this. I thought they grow individually like cabbage...
Our ride...for the trip
On the 2nd day, we went to the Columbia Ice field Glacier...super excited for the trip. This is the first time we are going to walk on the glacier!!! The glacier is about 4 hours away from Banff town. But don't you worry!! The drive to your destination is worth it and you won't even realize it is such a long drive!! Lots and Lots of "post card" photo -taking opportunities....
Half way thru our road trip...it started to snow and we decided to stop and take photos when we saw this very blue water...Oh and it was FREEZING TOO!!!
Yay..we discovered a paradise!! I guess it was a trail where people will choose to ignore.
Continue our drive to the Ice Glacier!!
Nearing Ice Glacier Field..which is also very near to Jasper. Too bad we got no time to visit Jasper this time round....I will be back..Jasper..wait for me!!
The majestic thousand years old Ice Glacier Field.
Let our adventures begin...
These are the trucks that would be bringing us to the ice field....each of this truck cost a Million dollar...don't play play...
Nick Wished he was driving this.......

The Glacier water...I bought a bottle there so I can drink the Glacier water. As a typical kiasu Singaporean I wanted to bring back a bottle of glacier water as souvnier. But I abolished the idea after I drank some...the tastes is weird. It taste like there's a lot of minerals inside.
After the Ice Field walk...is time for Sky Walk!!

Bye Bye...Glacier Adventure Center...Thank you I had a fun day here!! If only we can spot some real Bears!
It's another 3 hour back to Banff Town lolz...Here is the evening view of the Rockies...

We finally reach Banff Town at night...checking in to our 2nd hotel Rimrock Hotel. The location is not as good as Aspen Lodge as it is abit off Banff Town. However, There is air con in this room. But the main selling point of this hotel is the view from the room!! Another selling point for us is the absence of the sound of trains...phew

Tomorrow is going to be another exciting day....we are going to Lake Louise ( The most beautiful Lake in the world)!!

More Post of Canada Trip..
