Tung Lok Private Dining @OUE Building

Having a father that is a loyal supporter of Tung Lok Group means most of our family dinner is held at Tung Lok Restaurant.

Here we are trying out at the Tung Lok Private Dining. If you had been to Fulleraton Bay Hotel and see a space ship look alike building...that is Tung Lok Private Restuarant Building... Only two level in the builing.

There is no ala-carte menu here for you to choose...only set menu and the set menu changes every now and then. There is two storey in the restaurant, the highest level of the restaurant is a revolving one...you get to see the scenery of MBS, Fulleraton and CBD area...lolz

On the second level, is the private dinning room. Inside the dining room, there is KTV. Some of the bigger dinning room even had a sofa. Each room comes with a private balcony as well. For smokers to take a puff.

The room.....

The balcony with view of MBS...

Imperial Steamboat @ TripleOne Sommerset

29.11.2012

To me friends can be categorized into 2 types. Type 1: Those who will drink and be merry with you. Type 2: Those who will go through hardships with you.

Yesterday I was very disturbed by a lady whom I have always regarded as a friend, although I had yet to categorize her. And then something happened and I was really hurt by the tonality and the words she used on me. Words that cut like a knife. She later on apologized to me via email. But I was already hurt and the damage had been done.

I hope that everyone will find friends whom they can go through hardships with. For it is through hardships that beautiful memories are created.

As upset as I was yesterday, because I had already promised Celeste, Gwen and Alvin to meet for dinner at Imperial Steamboat at Tripleone Somerset, I went ahead as planned.

Celeste and Gwen are my ex-colleagues and Alvin who used to be my ex-colleague is also Maggie’s primary school friend. The world is so small ya!

Gwen & Alvin

Celeste Chua – a very outspoken, witty and happy girl. I got to know her while on attachment as an intern at their department. And as a very outgoing girl, she took the initiative to approach me and offered me chocolates!

The sauces

Gwen – a simple and kind lady who is always ready to help. She left a very deep impression on me because a couple of years ago, Maggie wanted to take part in the Amazing Race but she had lost the receipt so she sought my help. I didn’t know Gwen then, but I wrote an email to her for help and without asking any questions, she readily agreed and even wished Maggie good luck in the Amazing Race. Till today, I am grateful for knowing her.

Alvin – Having travelled around the world as an ex- flight attendant, I always like to bug him for more inflight stories as it has always been my dream to fly for free. Alvin is known for getting away with things as he is so lovable. And till today, that hasn’t changed -- he still gets away with stuff! =)

Yu Cuisine @ MBS

27.11.2012

Hi everyone!  How was Monday for you?  For me I enjoyed my Monday very much.

I went shopping with two of my girls and later met Wee Teik (Angie’s husband), Nick (Maggie’s bf) and Maggie for dinner at Yu Cusine at MBS.  MBS is one of my favorite malls too. You can find all the branded labels, the casino, food and supermarket all under one roof.  Meeting the boys for dinner was something out of the norm.

Before I wrote this post I was rather frustrated with work.  I felt like everyone was rushing me on the same day.  It felt like being stepped on by everyone on one same injured foot.  And then I started to wonder if we really did have options in life.  Sometimes it appears that we don’t.  Although some of you may tell me say of cos there is!  To do or not to do is also an option.  But then there are times you know that not to do isn’t an option.

Sorry to digress but I needed an avenue to vent it out. Back to Monday’s dinner.

Courtyard @ The Fulleraton Hotel

High Tea used to  be a activities for Tai Tai now is gaining pouplarity in Singapore. But I think if  you are able to go high tea on a weekday afternoon....you must be nearing the tai tai level....looking out at the window seeing people rushing around for work while you sipping tea lazily ......unfortunately for me I am only able to go  high tea on weekend .....

High Tea at The CourtYard ($41++ per pax  for unlimited refill of tea/ coffee). There are many choices of tea from TWG. For coffee lovers, there are also different variety of coffee for your choice.

Thinking what to drink...

The place is quite big but I think they are under staffed, it is quite diffcult to get the attention of the waitress as they are nowhere to be seen sometimes....

A 3 tier pastry and cakes are served. You can replenish any item that you want to eat agin...just inform the waitress.

The top tier....so so

The second tier...I like the cavier with tuna wrapped in waffles...I had 6 of them....the tarts with pumpkin and cheese is also nice

Otah sandwich would be nice if the bread they use is softer and fresher...the bread taste like they had left it oustide for too long....hard... rest of the item is so so

The third tier....Kuey Lapis and  apple puff is nice...rest is so so...

The scorns...I think it is quite dry...but Nick love the scorns, he had 8 of it....so   I think taste is subjective lolz....

He complained that the blog don't have his photo.... so here it is....his first High Tea experience and he love it!!! He want to go more high tea and gossip like a gal.....

Showing off his super hero arm.....

Showing off my new dress.....
