Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant @ Holiday Inn Atrium

8 February 2013

Today the office ladies and I decided to have a good lunch to start our CNY holidays.  We chose XIN CUISINE at Holiday Inn Hotel because I heard some pretty good reviews about it.

We also learnt something new from Hwee Hong who said that the Holiday Inn used to be called “or-por-li”.  Everyone was trying hard to figure out what English word that was.  It turned out that it was actually Hokkien for “black glass”.   We were all like “-_-“”.

The hotel’s car park is really narrow so if you guys are driving a big car, so please be extremely careful.

Upon entering the lift, I did not have a good feeling as well as it pretty old.  XIN is located on level 4 of the hotel.  While I have to admit I was rather impressed with the entrance of the restaurant, I was pretty upset with the service standards.  We were informed that we couldn’t have 7 portions for each of the dimsum which was totally unacceptable to me.  But after reasoning it out with the waitress and I managed to get my way =).

I shall now let the pictures do the talking.

I am so happy that i can once again fit into my tailored shirt.

Abigail, late.

And she says she wasnt too late.

Scallop porridge

Har Gao with green onion, I simply hated it.

Char siew bao which was too sweet

Prawn chee cheong fan

Chicken feet

 Pork Ribs

Oyster Veggie

Panfried carrot cake

Custard bun

Sesame ball with liquor chocolate filling

Lime sorbet with aloe vera & Mango pudding

The overall experience for me wasn’t a pleasant one. The only thing I enjoyed was the company. In my opinion the food was only of edible standard and the poor service just made the experience worse.

This is a place that I will not visit again.

Verdict 2.5/5
