Washington
After 2 hour flight from Orlando, we reached Washington!
Peaceful Protest on Safe Energy...it looks like a Carnival...reminds me the times where many Hippies protest in front of the mall for anti war campaign
Doing our part on Safe Energy Campaign..
Taking the subway to Chinatown...the subway looks like a train station
I was quite disappointed with Washington Chinatown. I thought it would be very big and busy like what we saw in the movie...Nah...the Chinatown is very small with a few Chinese restaurant scatter around here and there.
Don't know what to eat, we saw this restaurant with many newspaper cutting so being a typical Singaporean, we think it must be good. Bad Choice. One of the worst Chinese Food I ever had. Xiao Long Bao skin is as thick as Char Siew Bao Skin and there is no soup inside the Xiao Long Bao. Next time if you have Ang Moh friend bring them to eat Ding Tai Feng so they know what is a real Xiao Long Bao....
Holocaust Memorial Museum is a MUST GO in Washington. It is really an eye opening and emotional experience. The exhibits start with Hitler Rise of power to his fall. There is video on the sick experiment the Nazi scientist did on the Jews during the war. It is very sick how mankind can be so brutal to another mankind.
All those youngster who think wearing a Nazi Logo is cool...You are not Cool at all. Understand the history before you wear the Logo which you think is cool and decide whether you still wan to associate yourself with Nazi.
Beside the Nazi Holocaust they also have exhibits on other genocide happening in Africa. Even till now genocide is still happening in certain parts of Africa. The museum admission is free.
FBI Building...
View of the Capitol from the old post office building. Going up to the tower is free now. Donald Trump had bought over this building , heard from the tram guide he is planning to turn this place to a hotel. Guess, going up to the tower won't be free by then.
The Old Town Tram Bus Tour, this tour bus is great. We bought a one day ticket and you can hop on and off the bus at almost all the attraction spots in Washington. The bus driver who is also the tour guide will tell you the history of the places along the way.
At the Korean War Memorial....Soldier fighting a war for the people that they had not met before
The Second World War Memorial....Freedom is not free, lives is sacrificed so that we can have the freedom we had today.
The Hall..this is something I see in the movies all the time....I am so happy to see it right in front of me...it is so beautiful...
Lincoln Memorial Hall...prior to visiting this place..I had watched the movie " Lincoln" and " Lincoln the Vampire Slayer" which both I fall asleep half way.
The Famous Georgetown Cupcakes...we queue for about 20 minutes before we get our cupcakes..The cupcakes was good!
Our dinner inside a Pizza Joint in Georgetown...I realize that I had walked around the whole day looking like a cancer patient with my hair tucked inside the hat. Should have let down my hair earlier...so sad my earlier photo is ruin haha...
A much better looking photo of me....
A chio cooper winking at you....*Wink*
Many people say that Washington is a boring place but my trip to Washington proved to be otherwise. I wished I had arranged more days in Washington. I only had one and half days in Washington for my trip. There is so many world class museum in Washington and many of them is Free admission. If I had more days, I can soak myself in Georgetown one day.
