Over the weekend I hopped over to Shanghai where 3 out of the 5 of us had arranged to meet Maggie Kok who is currently based there.
Since it was my first trip to Shanghai I didn’t have any expectations and decided that I would just go along with whatever the girls had planned. Although 2-nights might seem like such a short stay, the number of things that we ended up doing over these 3 days were uncountable!
On the 1st day, Karen picked me up at about 10ish to have breakie at this traditional place that sells juicy “tang bao”, literally soup bun. We had to bite really carefully and allow the soup to run out nicely onto the spoon else it would be splattering all over the table. After breakfast was the tailoring of clothes which is a must-do in Shanghai where there is an abundance of good tailors. We took a nice stroll along the bund before going for lunch at Lost Heaven (Yunnan cuisine). After lunch was more shopping at Decathlon for some sports stuff at Zha Bei’s outlet. And then it was hairwash time for Karen and I! With our hair nicely done we went over to Xin Tian Di for a quick drink and also to wait for Maggie and Peggy to knock off from work before proceeding to dinner! Dinner was Shanghainese food at IPAM Mall call Lao Ji Shi. This was followed by drinks at Liquid Laundry. The day ended at about 2am, yawn….

On our 2nd day, Adeline arrived from Singapore and rang the doorbell at 7.30am!! As much as I had wanted to sleep more, but we left the nice house to have brunch at the French concession.
Day 2: Brunch at Notting Hill at the French Concession, Nuzzou Mall (Korean style clothings at wholesale price or so they claimed), Hightea at POP American Brasserie, Drinks at Dr Beer, Dinner at Gu Yi, KTV
