Ashley's Travelogue - 2 nights in Taipei

Whenever there is a long holiday in Singapore, it means it’s travelling time! This time round for Easter weekend we chose to go to Taipei! We booked our Scoot tickets last Christmas for $470 which I felt was not budget fare at all. Prior to the departure date, Scoot changed the departure time to an earlier timing. Nonetheless I decided to go ahead with the trip as as refunds can only be in the form of credit (not cash) which means having to book an alternative Scoot flight.

We departed at 12.30pm on Good Friday and landed safely in Taipei at 6.30pm.

Us waiting for Miss Heng to return from her hairwash.

Dinner time at Shilin night market.

Day 2: We heard about a famous soya breakfast place somewhere near the hotel so we decided to check It out. But we decided to head to XiMenDing Instead when we saw the massive queue.

Famous mee sua

Lunch was at this very amazing buffet steamboat place. For TWD 650, not only did we enjoy freeflow of meats and veggies, there were 8 tubs of Haagen Dazs Ice cream and 8 tubs of Movenpick Ice cream as well as free flow beer!! How can anyone not love this place?

Buying local goodies and look who Is on the wall!

Found a place that serves yummy churros.

东区

Diane had always wanted to try Dazzling cafe but we were told the queue would be at least 90 mins long. After roaming around the vicinity for 30 mins, we decided to give up and headed back to the hotel for nap.

Shida night market

We ate our dinner at a Korean restaurant! TWD 110 for a huge bottle of Hite!!

I am a happy girl.

Day 3: Time to say goodbye.

Although it was a short getaway but I still managed to try quite a number of new stuff like duck blood and Ah Zhong mee sua. And I also took an airport bus all by myself. But I do not think that I will return to Taipei anytime soon.
