Ashley's Travelogue - Down Under

Leaving our footprints in Perth.
Everyone was very surprised when they found out that I had never been to Australia, well my chance came when SQ was having a promotion on the airfares. The best part? No extra leave needed as 4 days of Jubilee leave was enough. =) Thanks Singapore!

Booked 6 months ago and finally we are departing! 4.5 hours flight on SQ was so enjoyable. Caught 3 movies which I wanted to watch and before I knew it, we landed. We didn’t plan anything in particular, just playing by the ear and following the mood. But first, car pick up and a sim card for the internet savvy people. LOL. Booked a convertible thinking that it’s an awesome plan as we could enjoy the coastal scenery when we drive pass it. But truth hurts, it was drizzling when we step out of the airport. Drove round and round around the airport as there was road construction everywhere, we couldn’t relay on the maps but to read the road signs. After 10 left turns and 20 round abouts we are finally at our accommodation.

Day 1- Raining
Settled  in our airbnb call cheetah cove, and then drove out to Hay Street for some light bites and to explore the place a little.

Went for a light meal at The Aviary

The Aviary - 140 William street, perth

Shocked by the portion. Fish & Chips Aud 20 😱

Dinner was at a nice quaint Italian place recommended by a colleague or Mr Guan. Don’t worry, we are responsible drivers, we took uber to dinner.

Day 2 – Raining

Woke up to the sound of the falling rain, another rainy day. Lied in the bed till noon time before we found enough strength to pull ourselves up from the inviting bed. Today we drove to the famous Fremantle Market. Walk around, ate churros, burgers & visited maritime museum.

I had planned to only wear the cheong sum + a cardigan, but the weather was way too cold than what I had expected hence adding on a jeans. I look pretty weird huh.
Had a quick lunch at Just burgers

Fremantle
The strong wind was so strong that I ate some sand.😡

My favourite Glass House candles, bought all the stock for a particular candle scent which I love. The empty space on the left was created by me.😆

Was craving for korean food in Perth hence we googled. Palsaik restaurant is really popular on zomato (their version of hungrygowhere) so we decided to dine here. To beat the crowd we reached 10 minutes before the opening hour, and we were so glad that we did it. Throughout the dinner, the Q just gets longer.

😋😋

Our beef sizzling on the grill. Spoke a couple of sentences in korean and impressed the hubby. Hahaha.. Mosty asking for more side dishes, beer and saying that the meal was delicious.

Day 3 – Raining

Took a drive around swan valley and stop by for photo taking along the way. Watertown brand outlet shopping, Crown casino, Dinner at Rockpool
Selfie before leaving the house.

Took a drive along the coastal route and stop by at this part of Swan valley which caught our attention.

Had a simple lunch at Watertown brand outlets and Mr Guan bought a tank top, nothing at all for me but parking fee was Aud 5 for a mere 90 mins.

Drove to hay street for some department shopping & more food. Heard that nandos in Aust is better, indeed, much better. Aud 20

The Plaza

Crown casino!

Had an awesome dinner at the rockpool restaurant.

Day 4 – Raining

Riverside @ Woodbridge for early lunch. It’s so scenic and picturesque that we spent an hour taking photos here.

A very nice old man volunteered to take our picture.

Walking like a model.

Told Mr Guan to lie down as to take my favourite post which I googled on the internet, but when he look pretty funny lying down. haha..

Photo didnt came out excatly like what I had expected, and this was the best among the 30 shots taken. haha..

The comparison. Is it because of the nose?

Well, last photo taken at the airport to end the trip.
Till the next......................
