It had been 2 years since Ms and Mrs last travel together....this time Miss C is travelling with us!
Our hotel ...Hotel Monterey near Osaka Station. Initally, we wanted to stay at Swissotel Namba but it was also China Golden Week during our period there. Thus hotel price also become golden price...SGD 400+ close to SGD 500 a night. Normally it would only cost 300+ a night. Hotel Monterey cost about 300+ a night with 3 beds, thou location not as good as Swissotel but it is still convenient. (P/s: Swissotel would still be my first choice if the price is right)
Our Old English Style Room. There is a English Chapel in the hotel where Japanese couple hold their wedding. It seems to be quite popular, there is 2 wedding being held during our 3 days stay..
After checking in, we decided to shop around the hotel and looked for dinner. There are a couple of malls that is nearby our hotel but they closed around 8pm. Walking around, we found this building selling digital stuff. On top of it is a food heaven...many restaurant and cafe that open till 12am.
We decided to have this DIY Okonomiyaki which look interesting. It was delicious.
Breakfast next day, We decided to try out this Unagi Rice as most of the stores are not open yet and it was the first time Ashley trying out Ungagi. Result: She didn't like Ungai. That was good for me as I got extra Ungai Yay!! One woman trash is another woman treasure !! In case you wonder...there is only 2 small pieces of Ungai inside the bowl of rice.
Waiting for her coffee...
We decided to check out ...Kuromon Ichiba Market. This place is where we can get the Kobe Beef, Crab, Puffer Fish, seafood, Japanese fruit at market price!! Cut thru the famous Namba street and you will reach the market. Do come early as the shop closes in the afternoon.
One of the highlight of this market trip...try out Kobe Beef!! You can choose the type and cut of the beef you want and they will grill it on the spot. Beside the expensive Kobe Beef they had cheaper alternatives as well. I declare Kobe beef is definitely nicer than Wagyu beef....the beef is so fatty delicious. All the massage..beer..and music really make a difference but that also explain the super high price tag for the beef.
SGD 120...for this small plate....
The other beef I forgot the name....it taste good too....but Kobe Beef still the best haha
Live Sea Urchin ...eat on the spot.
Steam Oyster...
After the seafood and beef feast...We decided to go for something light...Oden! It was our cheapest meal at the market ..it was very delicious as well.

After the market trip, we continue to shop around the Namba Area....
Miss C busy shopping for shoes..
Chilling out ...look at the height of the cake. How can you not eat Strawberry Shortcake in Japan.
Dinner Time was Crab Feast...this restaurant is just located beside the Famous Running Man Bridge. You won't miss it with it very big crab signboard. Do make reservation as the place is really full during dinner time. There are also many take away stalls beside the crab restaurant. If you have time, you can also queue for the famous Jing Men Ramen which is on the same street.

Shopping Time...!!
Shu Umera here is so Cheap....and I got a free mini makeover. Yay!
Miss C queuing for her Bao Bao, the bag is so hot that the counter shelf would be empty by afternoon. They limit one person can only buy 2 bags, to prevent reseller. You have to queue up in the morning to get the number ticket outside the departmental store before the dept store is open. We did not know that till one lady told us when we were wondering where to queue. Priority is given to those with queue no. so Miss C is very lucky that she got her Bao Bao.
While Sue was busy queing up for her Bao Bao, I went around looking at handkerchief. Japan Departmental stall had so many branded handkerchief for sale at a very reasonable price. I bought 2 even I don't use handkerchief. This velvet Anna Sui Handkerchief cost less than SGD 20.
Next Up Kyoto Post....
