Double K - Kyoto & Kimono

Ms and Mrs exploring Kyoto Together!!

Can you believe this gal dress up and had her full make up on for the early morning flight!!

Thanks to Amex Card, we got free entry to the Premier Lounge. But we were too early, the food counter choice were very very limited. When we were about to leave, they were only just setting up the buffet counter with more food.
We took Scoot for this trip! This is my first time taking Scoot...I must said the business class is very comfortable for budget airline. The service crews were friendly and the leg room is really spacious. The only thing, I wish they can improve on is FOOD. The meal was quite inedible...how I wish we can change the meal to cup noodles instead. *Note: 1.Make sure you load your Ipad with movies, no entertainment is provided. 2. Charging Station is provided free for business class but it is three pin plug not USB charging.
Peek at the Economic Class
We bought the train ticket from the JSR station from Osaka Airport to Kyoto. Language is not a problem as the ticket counter on 2nd level is dedicated to Chinese speaking customer.

By the time, we reach our Kyoto Hotel it was already evening time. The hotel we stayed in Hotel Granvia Kyoto. The hotel is just above the train station, this make travelling to other tourist area super easy. There is also a bus interchange just outside the hotel. There are many shops and restaurants just outside the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for the superb location.

After checking in our hotel, we decided to tried out this Famous Tonaktsu, Katsukura, which is very near our hotel. It was really good, be prepare to que tho.

Next morning, view from our hotel room.

View of Kyoto J R Station in the morning.
Kyoto Tower which is just outside our hotel. There is also a huge underground mall just outside our hotel.
Checking out the fox temple. Fushimi Inari Shrine My advise is to arrive early to avoid the crowd. We reached there around noon it was really crowded.

Look....there is always people at the background.
Another way to have a clear pic....think out of the frame!!!!

Do explore the food and soveneir street beside the temple. In fact, we spent more time here then in the temple.

Guess what are these??  These are for you to rest your chopstick. You can engrave the chopstick with your name as well. We bought the chopsticks back as sovenier for the gals.

Miss C buying some Japanese tibits from this Cute Japanese Ochisan.

Having some desert at this traditional looking shop. The green tea and red bean ice kachang is really GOOD!!

Our Kimono Experience at Kiyomizudera Temple. In 1994, the temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. We rent our kimono from here http://okamoto-kimono.com/english/index.html

When we arrived at the Kimono shop, we were shocked that the place was overflow with people. But Japanese being polite and efficient, we did feel comfortable at the shop. Appointment is a must, the crowd is scary at the shop.

The Kimono Sisters!!

I think the Kimono shop we had chosen is not bad. We were given different design of the back ribbon and their Kimono design is fashionable. We had seen some of the gals on the street wearing Kimono that looks like bed sheet.

Behind the scene....hardwork behind every nice pictures!!

Ms and Mrs Love to Travel!!

The next day, we went to Arashiyama which is famous for the bamboo forest. This is the rakuen we stayed, strongly suggest you to experience staying in a rakuen when you are in Japan. It felt so traditional and Japanese. On top of that soaking in Osen is just so shiok.
Our welcome tea and snacks.
After checking in, we decided to explore the town.

Bamboo Groves, 10 mins walk from our hotel

Back for our Rakuen Dinner in our room....

Changing into our Kimono for the Authentic Japanese Feel, the Kimono is size by height haha
Our Menu...in Japanese so we can only guess what we were eating :p
Kaiseki course (dinner)
Our breakfast in the morning...porridge and self made beancurd.

Overall, Kyoto is very easy to travel by Public transport and is very google map friendly. The infomation on google map is quite accurate. Subscibe to a data plan and google map will bring you everywhere via public transport. Kyoto I be back!!!!
