Copy Cat !!!

It had been about 2 months since our blog started...thou our readership is not alot yet but we still get a steady stream of people following our blog...

Imagine my shock, when I was doing a google search of our blog yesterday and I saw someone had been copying our posting and paste it on her own blog..word by word....pic by pic...posing as Ashley and I. This lowly coward disable the comment function on her blog so we cannot comment on her blog.

We had spend time , effort and money (we pay for our own meal) to do our blog, we certainly fucking mind when someone just copy and paste our post to her blog and act like is her own.

Yes, you fucking no life coward...if you are here today trying to copy our post again...so sorry to tell you I had disable the right click function. Screw you !

Boss BarBQ @ Clark Quay

Boss BarBQ @ Clark Quay

Another Groupon deal that I bought which is expiring so here we are trying out this new restaurant before the voucher expire. I bought $25 for $50 value.

Boss BarBq is a new Korean Restaurant cum Bar located at Clarke Quay.

Side Dish ($5), We thought this dish is free like all other Korean Restaurant but here they CHARGE. They did not informed us that this is chargeable until I see the receipt. The kimichi is nice but the other two side is bland.

Fried Chicken, 9 pieces ($22), the chicken which are their signature dish is very oily. The chicken is very oily and taste sweet. I only managed to eat two before I surrender to the oil. If you think KFC chicken is oily ....wait till you tried this....

Potato Combo ($18) , very normal fried potato

BBQ pork 200g ( $22), this gotta be one of the worst Korean BBQ pork I tried. The kitchen do the BBQ for you. The pork is not BBQ to char and the pork is gamy. Nick was saying maybe the pork is not castrated that's why the pork is so gamy....no wonder there is smelly man no smelly enunch haha..

Kimichi Soup ($28), this dish save our night of otherwise sad dinner. The kimichi soup is nice.

Kimichi Pancake ($18), another disappointing dish. The pancake is deep fried to be crispy but I think the chef did not capture the oil temperature correctly, in the end the pancake is soaked with oil. Be warned : This dish is very very very oily, is not for the people with heart problem. We left 3/4 of the pancake when we left the restaurant.

Overall : After finishing our dinner, we had many many cups of Chinese Tea as our stomach is not feeling good with the intake of oil.

Verdict : 1.5/ 5 ( The kimichi soup save them)

"A Tuscan Night" @ Regent

25 January 2013

Four Seasons Hotel Firenze’s Executive Pastry Chef Domenico Di Clemente was presenting his first ever chocolate showcase in Singapore.  How could we miss it? I gathered Louise, Pikling, Karen and Adeline on 17th Jan to attend this 1 day event by Regent Hotel.

The theme of the night was “A Tuscan Affair”. There was free-flow of Prosecco accompanied by Tuscan delicacies – Angus Beef with Portobello Mushroom and Dark Chocolate Jus, all for $89++.

I'll let the following photos do the talking.

The pasta station - freshly made

Parma ham & Chef

Mixed seafood WITHOUT onion just for me.

Campari station

Lamb chop

Freshly made pasta - al dente

Maggie is missing

Chat till the cow comes home

We drank 9 bottles??

Last ones standing

HP is an anti-social gadget

Verdict: P.R.I.C.E.L.E.S.S

The Cajun Kings

25 January 2013

The Cajun King is located at 15-1 Jalan Riang among landed houses and they offer seafood in Boston style.  Seafood has always been my favorite so I had every reason to give this place a try.

So on our way back to Holland from Hougang, we stopped by at 5pm for an early dinner.  Gladly we were the first to arrive.  So even though we did not make any reservations, we were seated down quite promptly. I quickly decided on our order -- two Estrella beer (Spanish $11 each), one Dungeness Crab ($80) in King’s mix sauce (you can decide on the spiciness level), red sea prawns at the min. order of 250grams ($9 per 100 grams), green mussels in garlic and butter sauce 250 grams ($20).

Mr Guan likes the concept of this store : No frills No fuss. The tables are laid with something similar to mahjong paper.  No utensils and plates are given and all food is served in big and super good quality plastic bags.  So after each meal, the staff just needs to roll everything up and discard.

The big succulent mussels were the best mussels I had ever had! There was no fishy smell but we could actually taste the freshness of the each mussel.  Prawns have always been my bestie and I decided to be BFF with the red sea prawns here.  For 250 grams, we actually got TEN big and fresh prawns and they were cooked just right, leaving them springy and sweet. I targeted the crab last as I knew it was going to be a messy affair.  I personally would not order the crab again.  Although it was really big and the meat was really fresh, after separating the meat from the shell, the meat was quite tasteless.  It became more like an order of plain boiled crab.

Total damage $170.10 for 2 pax
Verdict 4/5

Afternoon Tea @ Regent Hotel

25 January 2013

Sorry for the wait folks...
我在想如何分辨好人与坏人。尽心尽力帮你是好人?躲躲闪闪是坏人?安安静静是好人?吵吵闹闹是坏人?人多的地方本来就会是非比较多。置身事外是最好的方法吗?

Anyway coming back to my posting…  the girls and I made reservations to dine at Regent Hotel 2 months ago. The high-tea at Regent Hotel is often fully booked for the first 2 seatings. The harder it was to make a reservation, the more we were determined to find out what was exactly so nice about the high-tea.  So on that day, Mr Guan and I arrived on the dot at 3pm.  As the rest had not yet arrived, I decided to walk around taking shots of the food.

The spread at Tea Lounge is one of the better ones that I have been to.  Smoked salmon, caviar, wagyu beef, wings, dim sum, sandwiches, scones, crepes, fondue, cakes etc.. $48++
Drinks are free flow which is a plus point.

Important note :  Regent Hotel only offers 1 complimentary car park coupon per 4 diners.  So if there is more than one of you driving, I would recommend that you carpool.  Alternatively you may park at the other nearby malls and then walk over.  Otherwise be prepared to pay $23 for parking at Regent’s car park from 3pm – 6.15pm.
