Ashley's Travelogue - HongKong Again 2013

2 July 2013

Hong Kong has always been one of my favourite countries.  So much so that I do not mind visiting her twice or thrice a year.  After my last HK posting in May, here I was departing for HK yet and again! This time I travelled with Louise and Pikling to connect with Maggie who was joining us from Guangzhou. But it seemed like we formed a mini-Singapore contingent with 5 of Louise's friends and also Maggie's sister, May who happened to be there during at the same time! If the saying "3 women is a market" is true, then apparently we made up 3  1/3 markets.  haha! Anyway I'll let the photos do the talking...

I spotted a really cute guy selling Henrick's Gin at Changie Airport T1

Off we went

As we were travelling straight from the office on a Friday night, we decided to travel light. The pink Longchamp bag is all that Pikling brought along. Cool huh?

Louise, Pikling and Me

I shall not pose the photos of the rooms in W Hotel HK again. To view, please refer to my previous post here. After checking-in we immediately proceeded to Lan Kwai Fong to look for Maggie and the other ladies. Btw time-check : 1.30am

This is a series of Louise's angry face when she couldn't locate the bar where Maggie
& the ladies were.

Walking up the slope, FUMING

Louise to Maggie: Where are you?

Louise: You keeping saying is 3 doors from LKF Hotel but where exactly is the hotel??!!

While Louise was searching for the place, Pikling & Gina decided to ask for help.

Finally we found them right at the top of the hill in 1 out of the 100 bars in LKF.

After tonic bar we proceeded to another bar to continue the party. We all became nurses that night, with our continuous jello shots in plastic syringes.

All the women.
1st row: Sailing, Gina, Doreen, Maggie. 2nd row: Rebecca, May, Louise, Pikling, Me

Everyone was so wild! The effects of alcohol!

Time check: 3.30am

The very rowdy LKF

Last drink of the night.

We all had such a good night that I slept thru until I was woken by the the doorbell.  But thanks to the laundry service, I immediately dug Pikling out from the bed to have breakfast with me before she continued to knock out.

While the 2 of were having breakfast, Maggie & Louise were already out running their errands.

After breakfast, Pikling wanted to continue to slumber and nurse her hangover.  I decided to head out to join Louise & Maggie.
Outfit of the day:: Warehouse jacket, Asos Shorts, inner top from HK
Shoes:: Louboutin
Bag:: Chanel
Accessories:: Chanel, Hermes, Gucci

Self taken shot to keep as momento as I first travelled alone in HK.

Louise & Maggie had their hair cut at this super atas place in Harbour City Level 6. I was overwhelmed by the number of service staff they have. Every step you make, 1 staff would follow after you to make sure you find your way, press the lift for you, wait with you etc.  The impeccable service came with a price as I remembered Louise paying HKD 520 for a haircut.
Exchange rate 1 SGD = 6.07 HKD

While they were having their hair cutting, I roamed around Harbour City. And then I spotted R.V

Look at all the bling bling shoes that had my name on it! But there is something that I just have to comment : The staff at R.V are just too snotty! They were standing and chatting away until I requested for help.  The girl that served me didn't have an smile on her face. Anyway I left the shop empty handed after making sure that I made the sales girl very busy for popping into the store room at least thrice.

Pretty pink blings at HKD 8500

Lunch at Greyhound IFC Mall. Even though it was 2pm there was still a Q for lunch.

And I paid for a dozen.

After lunch at IFC it was nap time for Maggie & Louise, so we went back to the hotel. By now, my rommie was awake! So the 2 of us went to slack by the pool on the 76th floor.

A glass of Pina Colada

After sleeping for x hours, Pikling was still stonning.

Initially we had reservations for Claypot rice in LKF, but as everyone was so lazy we decide to settle for dinner in Elements.

Just the 5 of us as the other 6 were still shopping in Horizon Plaza.

I even had time for a bubble bath ~~ bliss~~~

The next morning we went to Jordan area for the local cafe then proceeded to Harbour City again for more shopping at Zara, Club Monaco and Optical shop.

Wine, dessert, nice view, stonning is always welcomed. I forgot how much was the bill because just as we wanted to pay, we had a little hiccup.
After lunch the 4 of us continued to shop while Pikling went to the police post.

 May Kok bought piggy muffin tray @ City Super.
Time passed really fast and soon it is time for May Kok to look for her HK friends to continue her trip in HK while Maggie had to leave for the train station to catch her train back GZ.
Then the 3 of us proceed to dinner at Elements.

Sen Ryo at Elements. Our number is 350 and they were only serving number 296.
Time check:: 6.15pm

When it was finally our turn, it was already 7.45pm. We actually Q'd patiently for 1.5 hr.

The HK trip ended after the dinner. While Louise and I headed for the airport, Pikling stayed on.
The trip was short but definately an enjoyable one.  We had no itinerary and made no plans. Everything was purely based on "feel".  Everyone tells me, 3D 2N is so short but it really wasn't.
In the past, holidays were always a checklist for me.
But recently I realise that there is another form of travelling, which is to follow your heart.
Isn't holiday about relaxing and resting your mind, body and soul?
