Mr Guan had been craving for Cotton Bleu’s filet mignon for over a year I think, or maybe even 2.
My first impression of the filet mignon wasn’t great as it cost only $28 as compared to other pricier mignons. But I found myself quite impressed by the tenderness of the filet mignon - so juicy, succulent and definitely worth every penny and even much more. So since it had been 2 years since our first visit I relented to Mr Guan’s request.
We dropped by Cotton Bleu for a quick dinner on the way home on Sunday. But sadly, filet mignon wasn’t on the menu anymore so we ended up ordering 2 steaks instead. There was nothing fancy about their steak. Although it was still tender, it had a lot of veins. That will probably be my last visit there.
Mr Guan ordered a foie gras as starter. After his dinner with his colleagues at Au Petite Salute, he fell in love with foie gras and like Louise, he would order it each time foie gras was offered on the menu. But according to Mr Guan the foie gras at Cotton Bleu pales in comparison to the one in Au Petite Salute.
